Meera’s Story

Meera moved to Squamish after growing up in British Columbia, where she experienced firsthand how access to safe public spaces, parks, and reliable transit shapes residents’ sense of security. That perspective inspires her focus on urban planning, outdoor recreation safety, and community-focused reporting across the Sea-to-Sky region.

Before joining StaySafeVancouver, Meera studied communications and media at Simon Fraser University and worked with local non-profits to produce public-awareness campaigns on safety, civic engagement, and neighbourhood development.

Outside of writing, Meera enjoys hiking the Stawamus Chief, cycling along the Sea-to-Sky Trail, exploring local farmers’ markets, and volunteering at community events that promote safety, outdoor recreation, and inclusive neighbourhood initiatives.
