Meera’s Story

Meera joined StaySafeVancouver after meeting founder Cindy Peterson through a community safety workshop in Surrey. Growing up in British Columbia, she saw firsthand how access to safe public spaces and reliable transport shaped women’s sense of security. That experience inspired her to focus on urban planning, safety education, and inclusive reporting.

Before joining the team, Meera studied communications and media at Simon Fraser University and worked with local non-profits to produce public-awareness campaigns on safety, civic engagement, and neighbourhood development.

Outside of writing, Meera enjoys cycling along the Central Valley Greenway, attending local food markets, and volunteering at community events that promote urban safety and inclusivity.
