Cindy's Story

Cindy founded StaySafeVancouver after a close call on the SkyTrain made her realise how difficult it was to find accurate, non-sensationalised safety information online. Determined to close that gap, she began researching Canadian self-defence laws, reviewing RCMP crime data, and gathering stories from women who had faced similar experiences.

What began as a personal project has since grown into a trusted Vancouver safety resource, read by thousands of residents each month. Drawing on her journalism background, Cindy focuses on fact-checking and clear communication to make complex topics like lawful self-defence and community safety easy to understand.

When she is not reporting, Cindy enjoys hiking in North Van, jogging the Seawall, or exploring cafés in Yaletown.
